spotty
Inconsistent: Have had good pico de galo, but other times lame salsa and stale chips. Can be super heavy on cheese..no coffee. Bland and canned tasting sauce on burrito. ug.

This place, this place...I really want the food to be better than what it is. The light covered ceiling is almost reason enough to venture in. The salsa is fresh, tasty and heavy on the jalapenos. The chips, Tostitos. Do you see where this is going? I ordered a burrito. The tortilla, dry. The the lettuce and tomatoes on the side - not a glimpse of iceberg and the tomatoes tasted like tomatoes should during indian summer. The rice, bland. The beans, not memorable. Huge amounts of sour cream and guac huddled in the last 3rd of the burrito, which would be fine if I were fond of say, eating sour cream with a spoon, but I'm not. The waitstaff is friendly and the service above average. They seem to have the right idea on some fronts, but then just miss the mark. I will might give them another chance sometime when I'm not too hungry - perhaps with the grilled vegetable and spinach mini burritos that Heather had, since she seemed the most fond of her food.

ummmm?
Average chips, salsa tasted canned - burrito had minty and sorta weird taste. Heather's spinach burrito surprised her with its lack of flavor, she liked the sweet potato side dish though. If I remember rightly, they have some nice neon.

mediocre
Mediocre. Not very good tex mex-ish. Heavy cheese. Pleasantly dark in the bright summer. ...and of course the frozen margarita machine.

Tasty margaritas - also from machine. Extra vote from Raj for not being too cold to drink. Fresh chips, good salsa.
Nachos a bit smallish, cheddar a bit weird. Good for a happy hour drink and snack. food is super heavy cheesy tex-mexy holy moly. The waitress, she is the best.
Salon Mexico (Los Dos Mexicanos)

friendly dive
All right if you happen to be in the neighborhood. Divey and smells kinda weird. The last (and first) time I came here it was called Los Dos Mexicanos - the name changed but the rest seems to have stayed the same - they painted right over the old sign. There were a few permanent residents at the bar, but then it was a national holiday. The food - bland tacos piles high but single layer instead of double layer tortilla, and stale to boot. Requires fork.
